VALUE
Though more four-door hatchback than coupe by any traditional definition, it’s impossible to fault the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic 4-Door Coupe. It could just as comfortably and easily find itself lapping a racetrack as being valeted at the opera or dropping the offspring at Montessori.

Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with 4-wheel drive (4Matic), the transmission wiring harness might not be routed correctly. As a result, water could enter the wiring harness connector and cause a short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit can create the risk of a fire, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the connector on the transmission wiring harness, and repair it if necessary. Additionally, the dealer will install a bracket to improve the routing of the transmission wiring harness.

Similar to 2021-112: Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with the emergency calling (eCall) system, the SIM card for the communications module could disable itself. If this happens, the eCall system would not work properly when there is a crash or when the SOS button is pressed. Safety Risk: If the eCall system does not work in an emergency situation, there could be a delay in response from emergency services. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.

Issue: On certain vehicles, a clip for the wiring harness for the automatic transmission may not be installed correctly. Over time, this could result in the wires to rub against the drive shaft and become damaged. This could cause a loss of engine power and/or an engine stall. Additionally, depending on which wire is damaged, the manual and automatic "P" (PARK) gear selection might not be available. If the parking brake is not used when parked, the vehicle could move suddenly. Safety Risk: A loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, unintended vehicle movement could increase the risk of injury and/or a crash. Corrective Actions: Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to check the mounting of the clip and the wiring harness. They will be corrected or replaced as necessary.
